Household Hazardous Waste

In May of 1985, DLD conducted its first household hazardous waste (HHW) collection. Since that time we have conducted over 1,000 collections for various cities, townships and counties. As a result, we've learned how to setup and staff an extremely efficient HHW collection. DLD can provide removal services at your permanent site, or setup a temporary collection at the location of your choice. The same experienced personnel who handle chemical waste at DLD's fully licensed RCRA facility will also package, load, transport and dispose of all your household hazardous waste.

Although household waste is exempt from many of the hazardous waste regulations, DLD believes it should be managed as if it were fully regulated. Thus, rather than inappropriately land filling paints and other treatable materials, DLD uses waste-to-energy type facilities.

In addition to handling waste in an environmentally correct manner, DLD protects you by becoming the listed waste generator. This reduces your environmental liability.
